Gone are the days of my beloved jars of JIF peanut butter. What’s not gone, however, is me finishing an entire jar of peanut butter in less than a week. And ya know what, these pockets aren’t bottomless! AKA, we’re ballin’ on a budget. I mean, Chicago isn’t cheap, and neither am I. I will absolutely splurge on my favorite things…. desserts, chocolate, a fun brunch out with the gals, cake, ice cream… did I mention desserts?
You get it. I have a huge sweet tooth. And I also have a huge spot in my heart for peanut butter. But ya girl isn’t made of money, even though some of these peanut butters sure think I am! From time to time, I absolutely splurge on expensive nut butters. But $8-$10 each week just isn’t in my budget right now. That’s not to say those nut butter’s aren’t damn good, I just can’t afford to buy those every week!
Instead, enter the beloved HOME. MADE. NUT. BUTTER. Customizable. Delicious. Unbeetable.
For less than $10 you can get all the nuts your little heart desires and I can pretty much guarantee you can crank out a few jars within that budget. More peanut butter for less money? An all around win.
For me, peanut butter is superior. It just is. I grew up on it, there are so many ways to eat it, and it comes crunchy and creamy (hot take – I’m a lover of both consistencies!). But cashews are also one of my favorite nuts. Soooo, let’s have both, why don’t we?
Now go pour that delicious mixed nut butter straight into your mouth, and enjoy those few extra bucks saved. 🙂
