Cutting right to the chase here. Any and EVERY time there is a hummus appetizer on a restaurant menu, you could safely bet one hundred bucks that I’ll order it. I mean, hummus with pita, hummus with veggies, hummus with meatballs, I’ll eat that sh*t on A N Y T H I N G.
And I’ll eat any kind of hummus. One of my absolute favorite things is when restaurants will have seasonal hummus and their options will rotate based on whats in season. Ya just can’t beat it!
So obviously I had to make my own. I mean, how hard can it be?! (not hard, I’ll tell you that much!) And you can customize your hummus every which way your heart and soul desire. 6 cloves of garlic? More power to ya. Spices out the wazoo? GO FOR IT. Dessert hummus? Eat your heart out!
Let me introduce you to the new household favorite…. garlicky beet hummus. Drool.
My absolute favorite way to use this hummus is to cover a thick slice of toast with it, add some extra olive oil and greens and DEVOUR.
