Baked donuts are a treat that can double as breakfast OR dessert. Count me in! Not to say that they can fully replace the traditional bakery donuts, but they can definitely count as a way to switch it up!
For me, no flavor or type of donut will ever beat a classic. A classic vanilla sprinkle donut, that is. The sprinkles on the top, the classic vanilla flavor, the little extra somethin’ from the sprinkles it’s all just so nostalgic. To be honest, donuts just make you feel like a kid again! What’s not to love about that?
However, what doesn’t make me feel like a kid, and actually scares the living sh*t out of me, is frying things. Hot bubbling oil? Nope, not for me. In most scenarios, I already accidentally burn myself as it is with just a pot or a pan. So… no need for a gallon of hot oil pleeeease.
Lucky for you (and for me), is that all these donuts require is a half hour minutes, a donut pan, and lil sweet tooth. Easy enough, right?
- These aren’t traditional donuts that are fried — these are baked donuts! While they aren’t a 1:1 to those traditional donuts, they are a great option for a quick baking project, or for those who don’t own a fryer!
- For the icing, you can choose to leave out the freeze dried raspberry powder (just ground freeze dried raspberries) or food coloring and just go for a simple vanilla glaze. They are guaranteed to be delicious either way!
- Grease your pan WELL. This is essential so that your donuts can pop right out!
