You know what’s better than caffeine in the morning? Well, nothing, except more caffeine – in the form of chocolate espresso granola. I’m absolutely one of those people who simply cannot function without caffeine. I’m useless in the morning before I’ve had coffee.

Am I slightly addicted to coffee? Sure. Actually, yes for sure. But it’s not just for the caffeine. I simply love the taste of coffee, the smell, the different ways of preparing it and enjoying it, and grabbing a cup with friends.

There are SO many qualities about coffee that I love, that go way beyond just the taste. One of my absolute favorite things is finding new cafes and enjoying the ambiance with friends. And sure, maybe that sounds corny or old fashioned or cliche, but it’s true! There’s something calming about it. And not to mention good caffeinated drinks, too. 😉

This chocolate espresso granola utilizes simple ingredients, fresh ground espresso, and rich chocolate. The espresso flavor is brought out by the chocolate, and there’s an extra crunch from the almonds that are packed into the granola. It’s truly delicious, and perfect for breakfast when you need that extra boost of caffeine.

This granola tastes like a chocolate covered almond thats layered with espresso. It’s safe to say I’ve leveled up my mornings…

Chocolate Espresso Granola Recipe Notes:

  1. I highly recommend using freshly ground espresso for this recipe! Of course, you don’t need to, and it will still be delicious! But, using fresh ground espresso ensures you get the best, and strongest coffee flavor. 🙂
  2. You can use either (or both) slivered almonds and whole almonds. I like to use a mix of both for more diverse texture, but both work equally well.
  3. For the cocoa powder, feel free to use a normal or dutch processed cocoa powder! Dutch processed has a much richer chocolate flavor, which I love in this recipe.
